Katie LeeRecipe: Katie Lee's Local Clam Stew

In Project Greenhouse, Episode 6, former host of TV's 'Top Chef,' Katie Lee,  teaches Josh May how to put his locally-caught clams to good use in a delicious stew.

Throw on your waders and try it at home!

You'll need:
 
1 dozen fresh clams
3 thinly-sliced cloves of garlic
2 tbsp olive oil
4-6 diced tomatoes
Handful of chopped basil
Handful of chopped parsley
Dash of salt
Dash of pepper

Heat the olive oil in pan over medium heat. Add garlic and cook for 2-3 minutes or until browned. Add tomatoes and herbs. Stirring often, simmer for 5-7 minutes. Add salt and pepper.

Nestle clams into the stew, cover pan with lid, and let simmer until clams open (about 10 minutes).

Pour stew over pasta or eat it on its own.
 
Makes: 1 sizeable serving
