Preheat oven to 350 degrees. In a mixer, cream butter, sugar and molasses about 8 minutes or until light and fluffy. Scraping down the sides of the bowl as needed, add the egg then vanilla, until combined.
In a separate bowl, whisk together the dry ingredients, expect for the chocolate chips. While the mixer is on low, gradually add the dry mixture into the wet ingredients.
Once they are combined, stir in the chocolate chips.
Line your baking sheets with parchment paper.
Scoop 1 tablespoon of cookie dough onto the parchment paper, spacing the dough 1 inch apart. Bake for 12 minutes. Let the cookies rest for 5 minutes before transferring to a wire rack.
Makes about 45 cookies
