Michael joins HealthiNation as CEO after a successful 25-year career growing and rebuilding digital media, video games, big data analytics and enterprise software companies. He has completed a successful NASDAQ IPO and sold three different companies to Cisco, Citrix and Gamefly, respectively. Most recently, Michael was CEO of Playcast Media Systems, a video game streaming service based in Israel and the U.S.A. Under his leadership, Playcast signed major distribution agreements with Amazon, Samsung, Cox and others leading to the successful acquisition by Gamefly, Inc. (USA) in June 2015.
Prior to Playcast, Michael was President & CEO of Skytide, Inc.. At Skytide, Michael repositioned the company around video analytics, signed strategic partnerships with Cisco, Ericsson and major customers leading to the acquisition by Citrix Systems, Inc. in December 2013. Prior to Skytide, Michael was President, Social Media for Cisco’s Media Solutions Group, a division that had acquired Five Across where Michael O’Donnell was President & CEO in February 2007. Michael was also President & CEO of Salon Media Group, a pioneering Internet Media Company that won Time Magazine’s Web Site of the Year award and signed over 500 advertisers and introduced one the Internet’s first “freemium” models. Michael was also a founding board member of the Online Publisher’s Association. In January 2016, Michael founded and became Chairman of NTRO Partners, a global advisory firm introducing clients to markets, strategic partners, investors and talent. A graduate of the University of California, Berkeley, Michael lives in New York City and the San Francisco Bay Area with his wife and four children.
