Video Description

Breast Cancer Awareness Month is all about informing people of all ages and gender about breast cancer and steps that can be taken to prevent and treat this disease!

Three procedures are commonly used to screen for breast cancer: a breast self-exam (BSE), a clinical exam performed by a doctor, and a mammogram. While most breast cancer discoveries happen by chance, a self-exam is a great way to get to know your body and what is normal for you. It is best to perform a BSE several days after your period ends when your breasts are least likely to be swollen and tender. If you have stopped getting your period, pick the same day every month in order to create a routine.
