The first step in developing a cancer treatment plan is called staging. This is the medical process where your doctor determines how much cancer there is, if the cancer has spread, and where it is located. Next, a biopsy is likely performed, meaning a part or all of the cancer is removed and examined. In this video, Dr. Holly Atkinson explains this process as well as what to expect from various surgical procedures.
