Put down the supplements! Here are some healthy pre and post workout snacks to help get the most out of your workout.
In this Kickstart Workouts tip, certified personal trainer Holly Rilinger gives her favorite snack ideas for what to eat before and after you exercise. Apple slices with peanut butter, a banana with almond butter, or Greek Yogurt with almonds are all excellent snack ideas before you workout. Holly Rilinger here and I'm here to talk
to you about your free and

post workout meals

[MUSIC]
00:13.751 --> 00:17.287
so let's get one thing straight without
the proper fuel you're not gonna be able
00:17.287 --> 00:17.861
to perform.
00:17.861 --> 00:20.450
So you need to eat before you work out.
00:20.450 --> 00:24.320
One of my favorites are apple slices or
banana with almond butter.
00:24.320 --> 00:27.070
You can also choose a little bit of Greek
yogurt with some almonds.
00:27.070 --> 00:28.730
Now, what about the post workout meal?
00:28.730 --> 00:29.970
[NOISE] This is very important.
00:29.970 --> 00:32.651
I love smoothies but as long as they're
low in sugar.
00:32.651 --> 00:35.230
You have to be aware of what's in your
smoothies.
00:35.230 --> 00:36.830
What do I like to put in my smoothie?
00:36.830 --> 00:38.510
I like kale, I like spinach.
00:38.510 --> 00:41.330
I like a little bit of hemp protein in it.
00:41.330 --> 00:46.420
Remember guys, eating right is just as
important as working out right.
00:46.420 --> 00:53.499
I'll catch you guys later.
