Most people have heard that you're not supposed to clean your cast iron skillet with soap, but then you're left wondering, "How am I going to keep it clean?" Jenne Claiborne shows you how to do just that. Remember to remove all types of soap from your cast iron skillet. It will damage it and cause it to rust!

Step one, wash your cast iron skillet
under hot water with a stiff brush.

Step two, to remove stuck on foods, scrub
with a paste of water and kosher salt.

Step three, dry your cast iron
skillet with a clean kitchen towel and

you can finish drying it
on the stove over low heat.

Step four, to season,
apply a light coat of vegetable oil,

and you can rub that
in with a paper towel.
