All you need is a blender and a few simple ingredients to enjoy this guilt-free, clean eating dessert.
For this recipe you will need 2 frozen bananas that you will slice in chunks, nut butter and almond milk which will all go in a blender. 00:01.970 --> 00:06.610
If you're obsessed with ice cream
just like me, you are going to
00:06.610 --> 00:10.980
love this recipe, chocolate chip
almond ice cream, the healthy way.
00:10.980 --> 00:11.930
00:11.930 --> 00:18.190
This ice cream is actually made with
bananas, the secret ingredient.
00:18.190 --> 00:20.060
These are actually frozen bananas, so
00:20.060 --> 00:23.720
that's why it's a secret ingredient
because once it's all blended up,
00:23.720 --> 00:28.070
it's gonna be really,
really creamy and soft and cold.
00:28.070 --> 00:30.480
Then, we are going to
add the almond butter.
00:31.600 --> 00:34.550
It's gonna give it a little
bit of texture, and
00:34.550 --> 00:38.460
it's gonna add a little bit of protein
as well, so you can eat this guilt-free.
00:38.460 --> 00:41.915
Then we're gonna add some almond
milk to make it creamy and
00:41.915 --> 00:46.890
then to add the delightful almond flavor,
00:46.890 --> 00:49.870
You're just gonna add a little
dollop of almond extract and
00:49.870 --> 00:51.880
then some vanilla extract.
00:51.880 --> 00:55.330
And then we're just gonna whip it
all together, and usually I put it
00:55.330 --> 00:59.530
on the slowest speed and then I'll raise
it if it doesn't seem like it's blending.
00:59.530 --> 01:00.505
All right, you ready?
01:00.505 --> 01:07.458
01:07.458 --> 01:12.368
01:12.368 --> 01:13.769
You don't want it to be a smoothie.
01:13.769 --> 01:16.180
We're not got for
the smoothie type of look.
01:16.180 --> 01:18.429
We are going for
the ice cream type of look.
01:19.920 --> 01:22.090
So this is what you kind
of want it to look like.
01:22.090 --> 01:27.550
And now if you want to harden up a little
bit, too, you can put it in the freezer.
01:27.550 --> 01:29.170
01:29.170 --> 01:34.640
Then, to kind of top it off, I always like
to put some chocolate chips or cacao nibs.
01:34.640 --> 01:37.100
Cacao nibs actually don't
have any sugar in them.
01:37.100 --> 01:41.680
This is actually from the cocoa bean
itself, so there's no sugar added.
01:41.680 --> 01:44.790
It's just all the goodness from
the chocolate, all the antioxidants.
01:44.790 --> 01:46.480
Sprinkle some shredded coconut.
01:46.480 --> 01:48.680
Here I've used unsweetened
shredded coconut, so
01:48.680 --> 01:50.650
you're not adding any additional sugar.
01:54.310 --> 01:56.110
Pretty perfect just like this.
01:56.110 --> 02:00.070
But, if you want to make it extra perfect,
put it in the freezer for like 20 minutes,
02:00.070 --> 02:03.440
or you can even put it overnight and
then it's gonna come out like this.
02:09.890 --> 02:10.390
02:12.010 --> 02:15.360
Soft and custardy like ice cream.
02:16.900 --> 02:18.120
I'm Arielle Haspel.
02:18.120 --> 02:19.029
Thanks for watching.
