Hi, I'm Jeanette and I love gazpacho, but
not when the little skins go to the top.
2
00:00:08.630 --> 00:00:12.030
I'm going to show you a quick and
easy way to peel a tomato.
3
00:00:12.030 --> 00:00:15.150
Pop your tomato off of the vine, and
4
00:00:15.150 --> 00:00:19.010
make an X right at the base of
your tomato with the knife.
5
00:00:19.010 --> 00:00:24.250
You can then drop your tomato
into a pot of boiling water.
6
00:00:24.250 --> 00:00:27.700
This is gonna stay in here to blanche for
about a minute or so.
7
00:00:27.700 --> 00:00:32.410
The next step is to remove your tomato and
place it in a bowl of ice cold water.
8
00:00:33.450 --> 00:00:38.080
So, your tomatoes need to stay in here to
cool for about 30 seconds to a minute.
9
00:00:38.080 --> 00:00:40.650
And then you can remove
them from the water.
10
00:00:40.650 --> 00:00:41.979
Place them on your cutting board.
11
00:00:43.000 --> 00:00:46.420
And peel the skins right off.
12
00:00:46.420 --> 00:00:50.212
And there you have
a perfectly peeled tomato.
