Silent Signs of Binge Eating Disorder

Emotional symptoms include feelings of guilt, disgust and depression.

Binge eating disorder is more accurately characterized by its emotional symptoms. People with binge eating disorder struggle with feelings of guilt, disgust, and depression. They worry about what the compulsive eating will do to their bodies and beat themselves up for their lack of self-control.

From time to time we all overeat, but when does this become a problem? In this video, Dr. Preeti Parikh overviews common binge eating disorder symptoms. Binge eating disorder occurs when a large amount of food is consumed in a short period of time, on a consistent basis over an extended period of time. Signs of binge eating disorder also include feeling shy about consuming large quantities of food, a lack of control over eating habits, eating large amounts when not hungry and eating to the point of feeling beyond full. If you are experiencing any of these binge eating disorder symptoms, contact your doctor as treatment options are available.
