Biologics: Treatment Timeline and Duration

Biologics duration is usually 8-12 weeks for most patients to see results, and usually you’ll see great improvement within a month. There is no cure for psoriasis so biologic therapy is long-term therapy. However, the longer you take biologics the more you can space out the shots. If you do stop taking biologics, the psoriasis will return, though. For most patients, biologics do work in the long term, as determined by studies carried out over 5 to 10 to 15 year intervals for patients using the same biologics over time. There have been instances where your own body creates antibodies against the biologics, therefore rendering it ineffective. In this case, you can switch to a different biologic therapy.
