Bulimia vs. Binge Eating Disorder: What's the Difference?

What to know if you're struggling with binge episodes.

In this video, Dr. Preeti Parikh explains different types of eating disorders. Many may be familiar with eating disorders like anorexia or bulimia, but did you know that the most common eating disorder is actually binge eating disorder? The main difference between binge eating disorder and bulimia, is that unlike bulimia, where a person will consume a large quantity of food then subsequently undergo activities to purge the food, those who suffer from binge eating disorder do not try to compensate overeating with purging or laxatives. Binge eating disorder most commonly affects women but men can also experience binge eating disorder.
