Diabetic Foot Care - The Basics

Inspect your feet, wash them with soft soap, dry them with talcum powder, massage with lotion and clip your toenails with a nail clipper weekly.

Foot Care for those living with diabetes is often  as challenging as it is important. In this video our favorite foot doctor, Podiatrist John Brummer, DPM gives 5 simple steps for excellent foot care.

Diabetes symptoms range from foot pain and heal pain, to damage to one’s blood vessels and nerves, leading to a loss of feeling or numbness in the feet. This can cause someone not to notice if they have a wound, such as a foot callus, bunion, or blister which can become infected if not treated properly. However, if you take Dr. Brummer’s advice potential infections can be avoided.
