Did You Know?: Common Cold

Winter is coming! This is the time of year when everyone is doing there best to avoid catching a cold.

Winter is coming! This is the time of year when everyone is doing there best to avoid catching a cold. You will be surprised by what cold myths are true and what myths are false! You can make a snowman in gym shorts and a T-shirt, but the temperature itself won't transmit the cold virus. It is the places where you feel the most safe that is the most dangerous to be when it comes to catching a cold.

In this episode of Did You Know? Dr. Preeti Parikh debunks a common winter myth. While many people believe you can catch a cold by going outside without a hat, this is actually not the case. The truth is that we catch colds in the winter from being inside more often than other times of the year, and come into close contact with people who are sick.
