Home Safety for Seniors: Part 2

In part two of Home Safety for Seniors, home improvement expert Brad Staggs provides some simple tips on how to keep your house safe.

In the kitchen it is important to keep items at eve-level and have health information posted on the refrigerator. Staircases should have handrails (at least on one side) and remember to keep flashlights throughout the house. Doorknobs can be tricky so Staggs recommends replacing them with levers. As Staggs says “Just because your needs change, doesn’t mean your location has to.” After a few easy fixes your house will be a safe place for everyone to enjoy.
