COVID-19 has been tough on the country—and the entire world. More people have died from COVID-19 in the United States than in World War II. Luckily, Americans have a great tool to protect themselves today from the coronavirus: the COVID-19 vaccine. Veterans have a unique opportunity to continue to serve and protect their country by getting the COVID-19 vaccine.

Why Do Veterans Need the COVID-19 Vaccine?

Many veterans live with risk factors for serious illness and complications from COVID-19. This includes lung problems, type 2 diabetes, and heart disease. Many veterans are also over age 65, which is also a risk factor for serious illness.

Visit your nearest VA facility to get the COVID-19 vaccine at no cost or learn more about the vaccine. You can schedule an appointment in advance, or you may be able to show up for a walk-in appointment. The VA also offers free COVID-19 vaccines for spouses and caregivers of U.S. veterans.
