Kids & Colds: When To Call the Doctor

Infant illnesses and childhood illnesses are very common. In fact, children develop 3-10 colds per year and most last 10-14 days. But should they be a cause for major concern? In this video, Dr. Preeti Parikh discusses when to call the doctor and when some rest, relaxation, natural cold remedies and plenty of fluids is all they will need to get back on track. She says that a call to the doctor is typically necessary when symptoms are extreme or if you child is very young (typically under 3 months old), but she also discusses cold remedies for kids that you can do on your own at home.
