Diagnosing asthma can be difficult because symptoms may be mild or look like they are caused by another condition. To insure you are properly diagnosed, your doctor will likely give you a Pulmonary Function Test (PFT). There are four main cases of asthma: mild intermittent, mild persistent, moderate persistent, and severe persistent.
