Poor nutrition at any point in a dog’s life can lead to chronic conditions like obesity, skeletal diseases and even a shorter life span. In this video, Dr. Louise Murray from the ASPCA explains that while homemade meals can be used, make sure a trained professional approves them first. When setting up an eating schedule, divide your dog’s diet into 2-3 meals a day. And while we all love giving our dog a treat, they should not make up more than 5% of their daily diet. Most importantly, always make sure your dog has fresh and clean water available at all times.
