In this video, Dr. Isabel Blumberg explains what you can expect from your own body and your baby’s during the second half of your second trimester. At week 20, you will likely have an ultrasound to check the baby’s development. This is the first opportunity to learn the baby’s sex and discover if you are having more than one child. You may be required to have amniocentesis, a test where fluid is drawn from around the baby to see if there are any signs of genetic problems like Down Syndrome, Cystic Fibrosis, or Neutral Tube Defects.
