Macular degeneration is a challenging disease that causes partial blindness. This happens when a special part of the retina called the macular begins to fail. People who have macular degeneration start to suffer from blurriness or blind spots in the center of one or both eyes. It hinders your ability to read, perform detailed tasks and recognize faces. There are two forms of the disease: dry and wet. In this video, Dr. Holly Atkinson discusses who is at risk and how you can be on the lookout for macular degeneration.
