While Restless Legs Syndrome (RLS) may sound like an imagined condition, it is very real. In fact, over 12 million people have it. RLS is a condition that makes it hard to stay still for an extended period of time. It can cause sleepless nights, pain, frustration and exhaustion. The symptoms are burning, creeping and tugging in your leg. Despite the name, RLS may also affect the arm. While there is not a know cause of RLS, researchers believe it may happen due to an imbalance of the brain chemical dopamine. Before visiting your doctor, it is important to keep a list of your symptoms to make diagnosing the problem as easy as possible.
