75% of those who develop deep vein thrombosis have at least one risk factor for the condition. Many times there are no symptoms for DVT but if you are at risk you should know how to recognize it. Symptoms of DVT include swelling in one or both of the legs, pain or tenderness in the legs, and increased warmth in the swollen area. Remember, DVT is treatable if caught early.
