Building Blocks: Milestones at 12 Months Old

In this video, Dr. Preeti Parikh talks about what you can expect from your child when they reach 12 months old. By now they have physically transformed into toddlers by balancing on their own and maybe even taking a step or two independently. Improved coordination will let them build small towers using two or three cubes. They will understand one-word commands like “come” and “stop.” At 12 months, they will be jargoning which is the stringing together of several unintelligible words. If your child is not doing any of the things Dr. Parikh mentions in the video, contact your pediatrician to see if your child has some form of developmental delays.
