What is Psoriasis?

What is psoriasis? Psoriasis is a condition that develops when the immune system malfunctions. It is estimated that 5-8 million Americans have this chronic disease. As Dr. Bobby Buka explains in this video, a psoriasis flare-up occurs when the body’s t-cells mistakenly start fighting each other and the body responds by making more skins cells before old ones can be shed off. There are 6 different types of psoriasis: plaque psoriasis, guttate psoriasis, pustular psoriasis, inverse psoriasis, erythrodermic psoriasis and psoriatic arthritis.
